About the role
We're a boutique trial-focused plaintiff's firm handling trucking, serious injury, wrongful death, and other catastrophic injury cases — and we're hiring a smart, organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support and work directly with our nationally-recognized trial lawyer team.
We intentionally run a small docket of high-value cases — you won't be buried under 80+ files like at high-volume firms. That means you'll actually learn to help litigate and build serious cases, assist with the preparation of discovery, work with experts, and prepare cases for trial. If you want to grow into a paralegal role — or eventually law school — this is the kind of experience that gets you there.
At least 2 years of legal experience is preferred (litigation experience is a plus). We're hiring for intelligence, attention to detail, and drive. We can teach the rest.
What you'll do
- Request, track, and organize medical records and bills
- Keep digital case files complete, accurate, and current in SharePoint (paperless environment)
- Manage firm calendar, deadlines, and scheduling logistics for depositions, mediations, client meetings, etc.
- Handle service and e-filing logistics, as well as correspondence with courts, experts, clients, opposing counsel, and others
- Assist with discovery organization and case investigation
- Help build trial binders, exhibits, and witness materials
- Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, and vendors and assist with call-routing
- Keep every case moving — spot what's stalled and push it forward
What you bring
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail — this is non-negotiable
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Comfort with technology: Microsoft 365 required; case management software experience a plus
- A problem-solver's mindset — resourceful, proactive, not afraid of hard work
- Preferred: prior legal/law firm experience (personal injury specific a plus), working with medical records, or litigation exposure
- Spanish fluency a plus
Why join us
- Learn trial litigation from the inside — work directly with the trial lawyers, not layers and layers of hierarchy
- Small docket, big cases — depth/quality over volume
- In office starting out (and preferred), but open to hybrid for the right candidate after initially in-office period.
- Competitive compensation DOE
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
