Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport and deliver materials across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle different types of cargo will ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction, mining, or waste management projects while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Duties
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on over-the-road (OTR) routes, including route driving and delivery driving tasks.
- Load and unload materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or hazardous goods using truck loading and unloading techniques.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during transportation.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan routes, optimize delivery schedules, and reach destinations promptly.
- Transport freight securely on tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks while adhering to safety protocols for dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
- Perform routine inspections of trucks including manual handling checks, load securing, and basic maintenance before departure.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups efficiently.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (A/B CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with , flatbed trucks, or dump trucks preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards for hazardous goods transportation.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and logistics cargo handling.
- Strong manual handling skills for load securing and truck loading/unloading tasks.
- Ability to work independently on long-distance over-the-road (OTR) routes while maintaining safety standards.
- Forklift certification is a plus for handling certain types of cargo or equipment.
