LOUISA COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF
The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Deputy Sheriff.
This will be for a certified hiring list, with one current position open. Certified Officers are encouraged to apply and may be hired on pay scale by years of service. Applicants must meet minimum hiring standards set by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Pay and benefits will be commensurate with ILEA certification, training, experience, education and military service.
Starting pay will be $29.95/hr to $37.86/hr with further incentive pay, rotating 10-12 hour shifts with (4) day weekends every other weekend, take home vehicle living inside Louisa County and 10 air mile from county living requirements.
Current Certified Law Enforcement Officers will not need to conduct a physical test or written exam.

The tentative dates for the physical agility test will be scheduled for the week of August 3 through August 7th 2026 at the Wapello High School Track (Athletic Complex) and written testing set up that week as well.
