Job Title: Tack Truck Driver (Distributor Operator)
Overview: A Distributor Operator is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of an asphalt distributor truck.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:

Deliver and spray oils and emulsions on road surfaces

Operate equipment in a safe manner while gauging the output of the product

Maintenance tasks and mechanical duties (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.) along with activities in elevated heights.

Truck loading and unloading
-
Completion of daily/weekly paperwork for services rendered, timesheets, and calibration sheets.

Responsible for keeping trucks clean.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-
Valid Commercial Drivers License
-
Valid DOT Medical card.
-
Tanker Endorsement
-
Thorough operational knowledge and skills of distributor trucks and related equipment to be operated
- Knowledge of the different emulsions and how to use/apply each one safely and effectively

Ability to perform flipping switches, monitor spray bars in mirrors all while driving/reversing the vehicle in a safe manner.

Reliable transportation to and from work site

- Physical organization and time management
- Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Consent to a DMV license evaluation

Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors/chemicals present

Position requires working in environments where the conditions may include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.

Must be physically adept climb up the ladder system, pry open the dome cover on the tank safely and walk on the catwalk of trailer safely while maintaining balance.
- Must be able to tolerate heights of up to 12 feet, rotate neck to utilize mirrors effectively, bend, stretch, lift, stoop, kneel, squat and crawl.

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March timeframe. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
Salary Range: $30.50 - $44.29/hour
