As an AmeriCorps Volunteer, during service, you will receive:
- A modest living allowance of up to $15,400 for 1,200 hours of service (one term of service).
- Upon successful completion of the term, a Segal Education Award can be used for future educational expenses or to repay qualified student loans. The value depends on the length of service. Members 55+ are eligible to transfer their Education Award to a family member.

Position Overview
United Community Corporation, in partnership with NJCEH and AmeriCorps, is seeking a Client Support Coordinator to serve individuals experiencing homelessness. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social impact and ready to make a real difference in the Newark community.
We are seeking candidates with experience or knowledge in case management, data tracking, client engagement, and collaborating to coordinate services and connect clients with community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide clients through obtaining identification, enrolling in benefits, securing employment, applying for housing, and accessing mental health resources.
- Provide group workshops, one-on-one sessions, and individualized client support.
- Help clients develop essential life skills, including budgeting, tenancy, and self-sufficiency.
- Support clients in preparing for and securing stable housing opportunities.
- Collaborate with shelter staff and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in professional development and networking opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (documentation required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to complete a full term of service (one year)
- Pass required criminal history checks per NJCEH policy
