Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and positive behavior management.
- Collaborate with families to support children’s individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Manage classroom routines and behavior management strategies to promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Lead activities that support childhood development milestones, including social-emotional skills, language acquisition, and motor skills development.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and student interns to ensure high-quality childcare and preschool experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across various domains such as literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention programs to support diverse learner needs.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons aligned with educational standards and assessments.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field; preschool teaching certification preferred.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
