Overview
We are seeking a dedicated State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our healthcare team, providing compassionate and professional patient care across various clinical settings. The STNA will work under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals to deliver essential support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient recovery and quality of life in diverse environments such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care settings.
Key responsibilities include assisting with daily patient activities, monitoring vital signs, supporting medication administration, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and confidentiality.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health interventions.
- Implement aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans for patients with complex needs including ICU or trauma center cases.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently for medical documentation, updating patient records promptly and accurately.
- Operate medical equipment safely including Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Engage with patients across age groups—from pediatrics to geriatrics—delivering compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs.
- Support discharge planning and home & community care initiatives by educating patients and families on post-care routines.
MUST HAVE: BLS, and State License
