Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Graphic Designer and Print Operator to join our Art Department team on a part time, seasonal basis. PART TIME (24-30 HOURS/WEEK), SEASONAL 9/10/26-12/11/26, ONSITE
HOURLY ($25-$30, PENDING EXPERIENCE LEVEL)
THREE DAYS A WEEK- SCHEDULE AND HOURS ARE NEGOTIABLE BASED ON CANDIDATE AVAILABILITY BUT, CANDIDATE WOULD IDEALLY BE AVAILABLE TUESDAY-FRIDAY.
REPORTS TO ART PRODUCTION MANAGER
Responsibilities
1. For each project, assess its scope for and/or execute:
- Conceptualization
- Time requirement
- Skill level
- Graphic design in 2D and 3D of renderings, logos, etc. Determine size and arrangement of illustrative materials and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based on available space, aesthetic design concept and budget.
- Prepare graphics for pre-press and production.
- Print production, in preparation for use by art department production staff
- Additionally, is accountable for the proof and printing process of all graphics designed out-of-house
2. Catalog and file all materials in a logical and easily accessible manner on the shared drive; ensure all files are continuously up to date.
3. Possibility to assist in foam core work and/or assembly work for art projects, as necessary.
4. Repair and/or calibrate art department equipment, as necessary.
5. Attend the weekly art department meeting. Contribute to the agenda, as necessary.

The Entry-Level Graphic Designer and Print Operator produces large-scale art, copy layouts, print proofs, and prints for event production to increase sales and profitability for HMR Designs. The Entry-Level Graphic Designer and Print Operator works with members of the Art, Sales departments, and others to ensure continuity of the company’s brand in the elements produced.
1. Confident, enthusiastic and professional demeanor in interactions and communications with clients and colleagues.
2. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, graphic technology skills, and advanced internet/computer proficiency.
3. Produces work in an organized, timely, thorough and accurate manner. Flexible when edits or changes are required.
4. Able to collaborate with all Department Managers and colleagues to successfully facilitate the position responsibilities.
5. 3-5 years related experience or education in graphic design
6. Preferably has some experience operating large format printers.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
