Duties
- Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of menu items with precision and care, following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Support meal preparation activities, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning food for service
- Maintain kitchen organization by cleaning work stations, equipment, and utensils regularly to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
- Serve food to customers in a friendly manner, ensuring timely delivery and satisfaction
- Follow all food safety regulations and protocols to prevent contamination or spoilage during food handling and preparation
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is highly desirable
- Must have NYC Food handlers certification or willing to get it within 30 days of being hired
- Familiarity with , food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in restaurant or catering settings demonstrating excellent food industry skills
- Proficiency in knife skills, meal preparation, and general culinary techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for serving customers and collaborating with team members
