Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator with expertise in TIG welding and AWS (American Welding Society) certification to join our dynamic fabrication team. Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on various metal materials, ensuring compliance with AWS standards and project specifications
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify metal components using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and schematics accurately to guide fabrication processes
- Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math techniques
- Use MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding techniques as required for different projects
- Rigging pipe threading, ductwork installation, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly tasks following safety protocols and industry standards
- Operate machining tools and perform basic shop math calculations to ensure accurate fabrication dimensions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and handling power tools responsibly
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site environments or metal fabrication shops with a focus on welding and assembly
- Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) in TIG welding; additional certifications in MIG welding or SMAW are advantageous
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical blueprints accurately
- Strong mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal, pipe components, ductwork, and structural elements
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures effectively for precise measurements
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, rigging equipment, and machining tools
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction site activities; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Excellent shop math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances during fabrication processes
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and schematics related to mechanical systems or piping layouts
- Prior experience with sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, ductwork installation or assembly is preferred
