Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support our educators in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings such as private schools, preschools, or Montessori programs. This role involves assisting with curriculum development, engaging with students, and providing support to children with diverse learning needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
Schedule:
1. Elementary (8:30 AM–3:00 PM) or (9:15 AM–3:30 PM )
2. Middle School (7:05 AM–2:00 PM)
3.High School (8:00 AM–2:15 PM)
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support students in their learning processes, ensuring they understand the material and feel encouraged.
- Help maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
- Engage with toddlers and preschool-aged children through play-based learning activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in curriculum development initiatives to enhance educational offerings.
- Provide individualized support to students requiring additional assistance, particularly those with autism or other special needs.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness to create an inviting learning space.
Requirements
- Paraprofessional/Teacher's assistant certificate is required
- Experience working with students in a classroom setting is preferred.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or similar educational philosophies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Patience and compassion when working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of math concepts suitable for early learners is advantageous but not mandatory.
