Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000 Base Salary

A growing industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality management, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organization. This individual will play a key role in implementing and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS), driving Lean initiatives, improving manufacturing quality, and ensuring products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience within industrial equipment manufacturing and possesses a strong background in ISO 9001, quality systems, corrective actions, supplier quality, and continuous improvement. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain to enhance product quality and manufacturing performance.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, internal quality policies, and customer requirements.
Develop, document, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
Participate in internal, external, and customer quality audits.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency.
Monitor quality metrics and develop action plans to achieve performance objectives.
Support company-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Sales to develop and validate quality processes.
Support inspection and testing of manufactured components and final assemblies to ensure conformance with engineering specifications.
Manage product release and quality inspection programs.
Assess internal product specifications and supplier capabilities against customer requirements.
Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to establish supplier quality requirements.
Conduct supplier quality evaluations and support supplier audits.
Work with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
Lead investigations into quality issues and customer concerns.
Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities utilizing 8D methodologies.
Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and report quality performance metrics.
Serve as a liaison between internal teams and customer quality organizations.
Support customer visits, product installations, and troubleshooting activities when required.
Assist in resolving customer quality concerns while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
4+ years of Quality Engineering experience within industrial equipment manufacturing.
Experience working within ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and manufacturing quality systems.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, ISO/ASME standards, and GD&T.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
Experience with 8D problem solving, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
Experience implementing or maintaining Quality Management Systems.
Supplier Quality and multi-site manufacturing experience.
ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, CQIA, or similar).
Experience within pump, rotating equipment, foundry, or industrial manufacturing environments.
