Park Tutoring is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic USACO Tutor to provide personalized instruction to students preparing for the USA Computing Olympiad.
Job Description
The USACO Tutor will help students strengthen their competitive programming skills, understand essential algorithms and data structures, and prepare for USACO competitions. Lessons should be tailored to each student’s current skill level, learning needs, and competition goals.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one USACO and competitive programming instruction
Teach programming concepts, algorithms, and data structures
Help students solve and understand USACO-style problems
Develop personalized lesson plans and practice activities
Review students’ code and explain areas for improvement
Help students improve their problem-solving, debugging, and coding efficiency
Track student progress and complete a brief progress report after each session
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and the Park Tutoring team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or currently pursuing a relevant degree
Previous experience participating in USACO or preparing students for USACO competitions
Strong knowledge of competitive programming
Proficiency in C++, Java, or Python
Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
Ability to explain complex programming concepts clearly and patiently
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
USACO Gold or Platinum-level experience is highly preferred
Reliable, professional, patient, and able to work effectively with students
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- USACO (USA Computing Olympiad) competition: 1 year (Preferred)
