We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs using advanced telemetry equipment to promptly identify arrhythmias or other critical changes
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following strict aseptic techniques and medical protocols
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to inform individualized care plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, ICU, PICU, and emergency departments
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization, suturing, ventilator management, and specimen collection
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medication administration, pain control strategies, and discharge planning
- Maintain proficiency in infection control practices, sterile processing, and aseptic techniques to uphold safety standards
- Participate in ongoing training related to ICD coding (ICD-9/10), trauma medicine, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and other specialized areas
- Support hospital initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and quality improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or jurisdiction
- Minimum of two years of recent experience working in telemetry units within hospital or emergency settings
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers; Level I or II trauma center experience preferred
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Experience administering IV infusions, injections, tube feedings, and performing venipuncture or phlebotomy procedures
- Familiarity with advanced cardiac monitoring equipment and telemetry interpretation skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are highly desirable
