Overview
Looking for the kind of person everyone calls when something breaks.
Eco Logic Ltd. has been providing specialty commercial flooring maintenance services throughout New England for over 28 years. Each year, our team services more than 40 million square feet of commercial flooring for many of the nation’s leading finance, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, technology, and Fortune 500 companies.
We’re looking for a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in repairing equipment, staying organized, and making things work again.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is retired—or simply looking for meaningful part-time work—who wants to keep using their skills without the demands of a full-time schedule.
You’ll have the freedom to build your own schedule while taking ownership of our repair shop and helping keep our operation running efficiently. Think of this as your shop—your workspace, your tools, and the opportunity to make a real impact every day.
If you’re the person family, friends, and coworkers always call because you can repair just about anything, we’d love to talk with you.
Duties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial cleaning equipment, including scrubbers, extractors, vacuums, grinders, power equipment, and related machinery.
- Perform scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain maintenance logs and repair history for all company equipment.
- Manage repair parts inventory and order replacement components as needed.
- Organize and maintain the repair shop, tools, and equipment.
- Provide regular repair status updates to the Operations team.
- Develop and improve preventative maintenance procedures and shop standards.
- Train field technicians on the proper operation, care, and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with warehouse organization and inventory control when needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Qualification
We’re more interested in what you can do than where you learned it.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to diagnose problems and develop practical repair solutions.
- Experience repairing small equipment, power tools, commercial cleaning equipment, industrial machinery, automotive equipment, lawn and garden equipment, or similar mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the repair shop.
- A positive attitude and willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Retirees are strongly encouraged to apply. If you’ve spent your career fixing things and aren’t quite ready to hang up the toolbox, we’d love to put your experience to good use.
What We Offer
- Flexible part-time schedule—you build your own hours.
- No nights. No weekends. No on-call.
- Typically two to three days per week, with additional hours available if desired.
- Your own lockable repair shop and private office.
- Competitive hourly pay of $25–$30 per hour, based on experience.
- Eleven paid holidays each year.
- Company-provided mobile phone.
- Stable, family-owned company with over 28 years in business.
- A friendly, respectful work environment where experience, craftsmanship, and common sense are truly appreciated.
This isn’t just another maintenance job.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys the satisfaction of bringing equipment back to life, keeping things organized, and being the person the team depends on. You’ll have the freedom to work independently, make the shop your own, and play an important role in keeping our operation running.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.
