Purpose of the Position
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has at least three years of commercial HVAC experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continued professional development.
Primary Responsibilities
Technical & Service Execution
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, system startups, retrofits, and equipment replacements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and basic control-system issues.
- Ensure work complies with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
Customer & Operational Excellence
- Communicate system issues, repair recommendations, and preventive solutions clearly to customers.
- Complete service records, inspection reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain an organized company vehicle and properly care for tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with customers, dispatchers, service managers, and other technicians.
Qualifications
Required
- At least 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Working knowledge of commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls effectively.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
Preferred
- Journeyman HVAC license or progress toward licensure, where applicable.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems and DDC controls.
- Experience with hydronic systems, boilers, chillers, or large-tonnage commercial equipment.
- Experience working in occupied commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or institutional environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work safely on rooftops, at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
