What You’ll Do
Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair & installation throughout the mining & processing operation.
- Install, remove & repair electrical components & systems
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical & instrumentation equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on substations, switchgear, motors & motor controls
- Troubleshoot AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes & control systems
- Work with low & medium voltage equipment
- Calibrate transmitters, transducers & weigh scales
- Troubleshoot process controls, instrumentation & pneumatic equipment
- Perform electrical installations & renovations to applicable standards
- Read electrical prints, schematics, technical manuals & documentation
- Complete routine & non-routine repairs safely & efficiently
- Follow SOPs & work area instructions
- Participate in safety & environmental programs
- May mentor or train other electrical workers
Where You Will Work
The Henderson Mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation approximately 42 miles west of Denver & 10 miles west of Empire, Colorado.
The mine has operated since 1976 & includes a large block-cave underground mining complex feeding a concentrator capable of processing approximately 32,000 metric tons per day.
The Henderson Mill is approximately 15 miles west of the mine between Dillon & Kremmling. The mine & mill are connected by a 15-mile conveyor system, including 10 miles underground.
The sites are surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest, offering year-round access to hiking, cross-country skiing & snowshoeing.
What You Bring
- Completion of an approved electronics, electrical &/or instrumentation program
- 4+ years of industrial electrical &/or instrumentation repair & maintenance experience
- Associate degree or trade school certification in a related field plus 2+ years of relevant experience
Additional Requirements
- Electrical circuit troubleshooting, maintenance & repair experience
- Ability to read & apply electrical prints, schematics & technical manuals
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet training & safety requirements
- Ability to obtain required personal tools within 90 days of hire
- Ability to complete required academic, practical & written assessments
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- VFD, PLC, HMI &/or SCADA experience
- Low & medium voltage experience
- AC/DC controls experience
- Industrial instrumentation experience
- Diagnostic electrical test equipment experience
- HVAC equipment experience
Work Requirements
- Ability to work a 24/7, 365-day operation
- Ability to work non-standard schedules, including shifts other than days
- Medical examination may be required
- Successful completion of required training & testing
- Pre-employment & ongoing drug/alcohol testing as permitted by law
