Legal Secretary needed for fast-paced personal injury law firm located in our Peru office. Our team is seeking a self-motivated person that is confident working independently as well as in a team environment and able to provide administrative support to our trial attorneys. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines in a busy work environment.
As our Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for docketing deadlines, preparing discovery, drafting correspondence, scheduling depositions, and client communications. Key Responsibilities:
- Order and follow up on medical records, bills and other case information via phone and email.
- Assist with light receptionist work.
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents, both in hard copy and within our client management system.
- Act as a liaison between clients, insurance adjusters, and medical offices.
- Manage high-volume of client calls and follow-ups to meet strict deadlines.
- Work with attorneys and support staff to guide clients through their case and provide an exceptional level of customer service.
- Assemble and organize data and prepare and submit reports as instructed.
- Effectively communicate with the clients while demonstrating empathy and understanding of their case.
- Efficiently and effectively complete all other duties assigned by attorneys.
- Assist with basic office technology troubleshooting and day-to-day tech-related tasks to help keep the office running smoothly, while coordinating with our outside IT company and Director as needed.

- Are proficient in computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of systems, including Filevine, Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, VineSign, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Can learn quickly and be a problem solver who takes the initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excel in time management, critical thinking, and maintaining a high degree of organization.
- Able to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
What We Offer:
Competitive Salary: Hourly pay range starting at $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for performance-based increases and bonuses.

Schedule:
Our office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a dedicated lunch hour. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates. Part-time employees are expected to work five days per week with a reduced daily schedule. This position is based exclusively out of our Peru office.
