Inventory Coordinator - Pet Food Plant
PetDine is a leading manufacturer of premium pet treats and nutritional supplements committed to delivering safe, high-quality products through operational excellence and innovation. We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team and support the accuracy and integrity of our inventory operations.
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting inventory control processes across the facility. This role partners closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy, timely transactions, and compliance with company procedures. The Inventory Coordinator plays a key role in inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, traceability activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while helping ensure materials are available to support efficient production and customer satisfaction.
Monday to Friday: 10:30AM - 7PM
Essential Responsibilities
- Enter and close production batch tickets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review daily negative inventory reports and investigate, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies.
- Complete Oracle inventory transactions, including item-to-item transfers for Sterigenics inventory.
- Conduct customer-requested cycle counts and inventory verifications as directed.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances through research and reconciliation.
- Create and process move orders for raw ingredients, packaging materials, and other inventory items.
- Troubleshoot inventory, lot number, and material transaction issues within Oracle.
- Support the Raw Materials team by ensuring material returns are completed and stored appropriately.
- Assist with weigh-back activities and update actual inventory quantities and batch records.
- Process purchase order reversals and inventory adjustments as requested by Procurement.
- Perform traceability exercises, mock recalls, and inventory-related audits.
- Coordinate and conduct inventory training for plant personnel, including quarterly physical inventories.
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile monthly inventory counts once the cycle count program is implemented.
- Enter receipts for empty packaging materials into Oracle.
- Coordinate quarterly physical inventory activities, including:
- Training employees on scan gun usage and counting procedures.
- Supporting reconciliation and recount teams.
- Ensuring all pre-inventory checklists are completed.
- Freezing and posting physical inventory and sub-inventories within Oracle.
- Leading reconciliation efforts and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Investigating and reconciling inventory variances exceeding established financial thresholds.
- Provide cross-functional support to team members and assist with additional inventory-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or supply chain preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of inventory control principles, reconciliation processes, and inventory management best practices.
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Understanding of lot traceability, inventory transactions, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive inventory and business information.
- Commitment to accuracy, continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in both an office and manufacturing environment, including spending a significant portion of the workday on the production floor.
- Ability to comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, quality standards, and company safety policies.
- Willingness to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), gloves, and steel-toe footwear while in production areas.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, forklift traffic, varying temperatures, noise, dust, and occasional strong odors associated with ingredients and pet food production.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and move materials as needed, and perform inventory-related tasks throughout the facility.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
