Job Title: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Reports to: Practice Development Manager
Location: On-site in Urgent Care
Schedule: Varying shifts of up to twelve (12) to fourteen (14) hours. Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
Job Summary: The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for treating both pediatric and adult patients, thrives in a fast-paced urgent care environment, and demonstrates strong clinical judgment and excellent bedside manner. This role requires the ability to efficiently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent care conditions while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
We are a community-focused urgent care dedicated to providing high-quality, convenient care to patients of all ages. With an average patient volume of 20–30 patients per day, our providers are able to focus on delivering thorough, personalized care while helping us continue to grow and strengthen our presence in the community.

Our UCAOA-accredited center is open 7 days a week and offers on-site X-ray, EKG, and point-of-care laboratory testing.
FLSA STATUS: This position is a non-exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act; thus, it is eligible to receive overtime compensation, as appropriate. Overtime requires prior approval from the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute illnesses and minor injuries
- Evaluate and treat pediatric and adult patients 4 months and older
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, incision & drainage, wound care and IVs
- Manage orthopedic injuries and occupational medicine cases, work-related injury evaluations and, DOT/CDL exams
- Interpret EKGs and X-rays
- Prescribe medication in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Practice evidence-based medicine and follow established clinical care standards
- Collaborate with Supervising Physicians and clinical staff regarding complex medical cases and make appropriate referrals
- Demonstrate excellent bedside manner
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- · Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the applicable state
- · Active DEA license to be actively maintained throughout employment
- · DOT Certification to be actively maintained throughout employment
- · Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, or PALS certification required
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
- · Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred
- · Comfortable treating patients ages four (4) months and older
- · Strong procedural skills including suturing, splinting, incision & drainage and IVs
- · Proficiency in reading EKGs and X-rays
- · Excellent communication, leadership, and patient satisfaction skills
- · Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- · Ability to push or pull in order to safely perform essential job duties
- · Ability to bend and twist repetitively
- · Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
