JOB TYPE: Full-time
This position starts at 6:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. When overtime is required, a 1-days notice will be given to you.
SALARY: $20.00 to $27.00 /hour. Pay Scale is based on your experience and ability.
JOB SUMMARY:
Inspect first articles as presented by the machinists, in-process parts, parts received from outside processing, final inspection of products prior to shipment. The inspector will be using hand inspection tools, coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, and performing visual inspections.
Responsibilities/daily tasks:
· Read and analyze blueprints, quality documents and manuals, and to verify measurements and other specifications to plans
· Perform inspection of setups and fixtures; maintains, or schedules maintenance of inspection tools; monitors inspection schedules and follow-up for compliance of inspection requirements
· Inspect first articles as presented by the machinists, in-process parts, and products prior to shipment using inspection tools, coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, and performing visual inspections.
· Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
· Generate first article inspection reports
· Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
· Inspect incoming raw materials as well as parts from outside processing, plating, painting, accepting processing Certifications.
· Use the CMM, precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined within specified tolerance.
· Create programs on the automatic CMM, with or without the use of a solid model (mostly without).
· Perform all other tasks as requested by Management
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of three years’ experience as a quality inspector.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
· Experience with Solid Works or similar 3D CAD Design software.
· Able to understand the commonly used standards, codes, and industry practices.
· Training in general safety awareness and practices.
· Working knowledge of standard inspection tools using calipers & micrometers, depth gauges, optical comparators, and CMM.
· Capable Inspecting parts using a CMM. Create programs on the automatic CMM, with or without the use of a solid model (mostly without)
· Knowledgeable in the use of “CMM Manager” Software, preferred.
· Ability to fluently read and write English, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
· Intermediate to advanced shop math skills preferred
· Proficient using a PC in a Windows environment.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
· Knowledge of Machined Aircraft parts preferred
· Knowledge of Quality Systems
· Must have Blueprint analysis, mechanical system knowledge, critical thinking, tool familiarity
· Good problem solving and conceptual skills.
· Excellent communication skills to convey detailed instructions to the machine operators, customer inspector/representatives and others as needed
Mechanical and technical Capacity. Knowledgeable in GD&T, is a must
