REPORTS TO: Civic Center Production Manager

PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Civic Center Production Manager and Production staff, this part-time position assists with the set-up, production, and tear down of a variety of events. Performs clean-up and maintenance work to restore the venues after events have ended.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Set-up and takedown of staging equipment.

Assists with the move in and move out of theatrical shows, concerts, and sporting events.

Performs Coliseum floor conversions for hockey, football, concerts, and other events. Installs and removes dashers, glass, and ice for ice related events.

Also conducts minor ice rink maintenance and prep. Installs and removes arena football turf, goals, and dasher pads.

Works with the set-up and use of professional sound and lighting equipment.

Assists in making sure equipment is in safe and top working order.

Assists in monitoring building security and cleanliness.

General maintenance on equipment.

Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work hours will vary including split shifts, nights, weekends, and some overnight work and will require long hours at times. Stagehands are scheduled to work on an as needed basis. Most work is done indoors, but there are limited duties performed outdoors. Frequent heavy lifting of 50lbs or more is required. Frequent bending and walking and standing for long periods is also required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A working knowledge theatrical and concert production, lighting, stage management, electricity, and trades involved in staging of shows, meetings, banquets, and exhibitions is preferred, but not required. Will train.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Must be at least 18 years old with a Reliable means of transportation.
Must be Punctual.
Experience: Working knowledge of the following is preferred:

Forklifts, scissor lifts, & aerial man lifts.

Power hand tools
-
Production of technical sound and lighting equipment
