American Traveler is hiring a Monitor Technician I for a telemetry unit, requiring travel experience and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Works in a telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
-
12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

13-week contract

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Monitor Technician or in a related role

Active RN license required if applicable

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Travel experience required

Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and ECG tracings preferred

Good computer skills and interpersonal skills

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include monitoring patient telemetry, maintaining appropriate alarm settings, and alerting nursing staff when a patient is in crisis

Performs daily printings of patient rhythm strips and checks for accurate date/time on printouts

Assists in troubleshooting monitor equipment and maintaining supplies for the monitor area

Performs ECGs as needed

All AHA certifications must be from the American Heart Association only

Workers who have previously been placed at this facility may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for another contract
