DEKSTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the configuration, installation, operation, preventative maintenance and repair of the district’s computing hardware and their applied software applications.
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of experience supporting desktop computers in a networked environment (Windows and/or Mac OS).
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience supporting A/V equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, or event spaces.
- Ability to provide both remote and on-site desktop support.
- Strong customer service and communication skills in a professional setting.
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively as part of a technical support team.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory and documentation of equipment and support activities.
- Experience with setup, delivery, and installation of workstations, peripherals, and classroom technology.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques for classroom technology and instructional spaces.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with video-data projection, audio systems, and general A/V troubleshooting.
- Experience delivering end-user training or identifying training needs related to technology usage.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and help desk ticketing systems.
- Ability to lead or coordinate technical projects and act as an escalation point.
- Experience communicating and reporting technology outages and incident tracking.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Prior experience in a higher education or academic support environment.
