Duties

- Support media relations efforts by researching target outlets, preparing pitch materials, and maintaining media contact lists
- Contribute to social media management by creating engaging posts, monitoring engagement metrics, and suggesting content strategies
- Help organize public speaking events, press conferences, and community outreach initiatives by coordinating logistics and preparing presentation materials
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and relevant topics to inform communication strategies
- Proofread all outgoing content for accuracy, tone, and grammatical correctness before publication
- Collaborate with team members on marketing campaigns and public relations activities to amplify organizational messaging
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise messages tailored for diverse audiences
- Familiarity with AP style and basic journalism principles
- Excellent research skills with attention to detail
- Effective public speaking abilities and confidence in presenting ideas verbally
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging content
- Knowledge of media relations tactics and press release distribution processes
- Demonstrated communication skills including proofreading, editing, and storytelling capabilities
