Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in clinical procedures, patient management, and infection control. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive practice committed to excellence in dental care.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards.
- Assist with dental instrument processing, chairside assisting, and operating dental equipment including 3D scanners when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology is required; additional certifications related to infection control are advantageous.
