Job Summary
We are now seeking an energetic and friendly Barista/Server to join our vibrant café team! In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair.
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems such as Clover, ensuring smooth retail sales transactions.
- Must routinely provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly with a smile, answering questions about menu items, and accommodating special requests.
- Handle retail sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling and credit card processing while maintaining accuracy in cash register operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in preparation areas, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
- Assist with serving light snacks or baked goods as needed to enhance the guest experience.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and a positive environment.
- Perform daily checklist tasks such as restocking and cleaning during any down time between customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is highly preferred; café experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Clover POS for retail sales transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
- Must dress presentable and clean, with good personal hygiene.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Sunday availability is a must.
