Position Summary
Richard E. Pierson Construction Co. is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Class A Tag Along Driver to support the transportation of oversized construction equipment and materials to and from heavy highway, heavy civil, and marine construction projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring oversized loads are transported safely and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload equipment and materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with legal load limits.
- Drive/operate Dump Truck and heavy equipment on jobsites.
- Follow designated haul routes, traffic laws, and all company safety policies, including DOT regulations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and crew members to coordinate deliveries and jobsite needs.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours, mileage, and materials hauled.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment – dozers, excavators, etc.
- Dump Truck driving experience is preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in varying weather conditions.
