We are seeking a passionate Center Director and Lead Pre-K Teacher to serve in a dual role that offers the best of both worlds: meaningful hands-on time with children and impactful leadership responsibilities that drive school-wide excellence.
Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Develop and implement enriching lesson plans aligned with early learning standards.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Observe, assess, and celebrate children's growth and achievements.
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of educators.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure excellence in program quality, licensing compliance, and school operations.
- Partner with families to create a welcoming and supportive school community.
- Cultivate a positive, collaborative culture where teachers thrive.
- Manage billing, payments, and budget
- Order supplies and ensure school is equipped with everything necessary.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; OR a minimum of 64 semester hours of college coursework, including at least 21 semester hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Early Childhood Special Education, as recognized by Illinois DCFS.
- 3 credits in business administration- preferably directly relating to managing operations of a day care center.
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings such as daycare, preschool, or private school environments.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, special education practices, and early intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and community partners.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in educational settings is highly desirable.
- Certification or credentials in early childhood education or related fields are preferred; ongoing professional development in literacy education and math instruction is advantageous. Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
