Local, family-owned business is in search of a full-time diesel mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of medium and heavy duty trucks. Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Minimum three years experience required. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a drug screening. Qualified candidates only.
Duties will include:
· Consulting with drivers and daily inspections to evaluate tasks required.
· Preparing work plans after diagnosing known issues.
· Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results in order to repair systems or components.
· Inspecting and repairing vehicle systems including suspension, brakes, steering, power takeoff, and exhaust.
· Repairing/replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
· Conducting field repairs in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
· Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
· Conducting preventative maintenance on a fleet of service vehicles.
· Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
