Job Summary: Essential roles of the Development Manager include managing MVFB’s donor pipeline, supervising the Volunteer Coordinator, identifying grants and writing grant proposals. This role requires relational skills when developing new donors and community/corporate partners. As the manager of the Development Program, this position has the responsibility for all activities and initiatives that bring in donations (both food and cash), volunteers, school supplies, and Christmas gifts into the food bank. This includes developing engaging initiatives and food drives, maintaining complex calendars, performing office duties, and all other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
The Development Manager will be responsible for handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree within a relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in project management, non-profit experience or equivalent experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Experience of using a CRM/Donor Management system.
Ability to learn new technologies and programs with ease.
1+ years of grant writing experience.
High level of integrity and discretion.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with donors, clients, volunteers, employees, and community members
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to design and improve processes
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/assignments at any given time.
Superior attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to complete complex tasks quickly with little supervision and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of grant writing experience
Ability to speak Spanish, Ukrainian, or Russian.
Requirements:
Must have reliable personal transportation and provide proof of valid Washington State Driver’s License
Must be able to meet requirements of insurability to drive MVFB vehicles.
Must be able to pass a criminal history background check
Must be able to sit/stand for periods of up to four hours
Must be able to lift 50 pounds due to requirement of operations.
Must have or be able to obtain Food Handlers Permit
Must be able to drive a box truck (training available)
Responsibilities:
Be active within the local community to develop new funding sources, donors, and partners in coordination with the Executive Director.
Work with appropriate staff to direct, coordinate, and deliver Development Program events including food drives, school supply drives, fundraising events, and other community outreach events/drives.
Serve as the co-lead, alongside the Executive Director, for annual fundraising events such as the Charity Golf Tournament, Turkey Trot, and Hunger Action Month.
Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator and successful operation of MVFB’s Volunteer Program.
Be responsible for identifying, writing, and reporting on grants below $50k.
Complete detailed data entry, update and maintain files, and maintain accurate records and planning systems (food bank data, annual planning calendar, donations, drive/event totals).
Direct and coordinate donor care program, including the management of all donor communication.
Work with the Executive Director for ongoing development of MVFB’s donor pipeline.
Assist in content creation for social media, maplevalleyfoodbank.org, and additional publications as needed.
Maintain and promote positive public relations with the community, clients, and volunteers.
Perform office duties such as answering phones, keeping calendars, coordinating appointments, picking up, sorting and distributing mail, and other clerical duties.
Work with the Executive Director to develop annual fundraising goals as part of the annual budgetary process.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
