Job Summary
As an AV Technician at First Products, you will assemble electronic components, perform low-voltage wiring, install and configure software for Medical Information Technology. You’ll improve assembly methods and practices and update internal audio/video training and setup manuals. In addition to standard assembly work, this role supports A/V system installation, equipment configuration, and technical media setup across multiple custom cart product lines. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area, follow safety procedures, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Technical Installation, Setup & Support
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, photographs, and written instructions.
- Assemble and customize electronic devices, cables, and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
- Install and route low-voltage wiring for audio, video, control, and data systems.
- Set up and configure A/V equipment, including IP cameras, microphones, video displays, touchscreens, and lighting systems.
- Assist with installation and configuration of PCs, tablets, and related software for production or training purposes.
- Capture and edit video or images for training and documentation.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software connectivity issues to identify faulty components or programming.
- Work with customers to resolve issues with returned or nonfunctional equipment.
- Occasionally communicate with manufacturers to troubleshoot or repair malfunctioning devices.
Documentation, Quality Control & Workplace Standards
- Perform quality checks and continuity testing on assembled and wired components.
- Record MAC and IP addresses accurately.
- Update internal manuals for device and equipment setup.
- Document completed work on production and quality control forms.
- Identify and implement improvements to assembly and configuration processes to increase efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 6S standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certificate / degree preferred.
- Experience: One to five years of experience in an industrial or A/V installation environment is preferred.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring, A/V setup, and software configuration is also preferred. Information Technology experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This is an on-site position. The physical requirements of the job in an work environment, including, but not limited to the following: prolonged sitting while operating computer and office equipment, good manual dexterity, the ability to lift and carry parts weighing up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for extended periods, proficiency with hand tools and equipment. Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
