The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The Preschool Teacher’s Aide supports the lead preschool teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for young children. The Teacher’s Aide assists with classroom activities, supervision, routines, and age-appropriate learning experiences while helping promote the Catholic values and mission of the school.
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
- Provide attentive supervision of preschool children at all times.
- Help create a warm, welcoming, and positive classroom environment.
- Assist children with daily routines, including handwashing, toileting, meals, snacks, and rest time.
- Support age-appropriate academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and activities.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom.
- Encourage children to practice kindness, respect, cooperation, and responsibility.
- Support the school's Catholic identity by modeling Christian values and participating in age-appropriate prayer and faith activities.
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with teachers, parents, and school staff.
- Follow school policies, safety procedures, and child-protection requirements.
- Assist with arrival, dismissal, recess, field trips, and other school activities as needed.
- Perform other duties assigned by the lead teacher or school administration.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
- Early childhood education coursework or experience is a plus.
- Must demonstrate patience, warmth, dependability, and good communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a teaching team.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic identity of the school.
- Must meet all applicable background-check, training, and child-safety requirements.
