Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude, providing excellent customer service from arrival to departure
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring accurate seating plans and waitlist updates
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or restaurant policies
- Maintain organized table management by coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating flow and reduce wait times
- Handle phone communications professionally, including taking reservations, answering inquiries, and managing waitlist calls with proper phone etiquette
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized host station, including updating reservation logs and managing waiting lists efficiently
- Support food safety protocols by ensuring cleanliness standards are upheld at the host station and in guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar food service or hospitality role
- Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements smoothly
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems used in hospitality settings
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, wait times, and guest counts accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction
