Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Intake Specialist to support referral intake, referral source communication, benefit verification, and timely routing of intake documentation. This position is not entry level; it requires a proactive healthcare professional with strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is NOT a remote position, you will be in office Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Review, triage, and process incoming referrals, faxes, and clinical documentation.
- Coordinate with Intake, Sales, Clinical, RCM, and Case Management teams to ensure timely and accurate referral processing.
- Verify insurance benefits using payer portals and available documentation.
- Communicate professionally with referral sources and internal teams regarding referral status, missing documentation, and next steps.
- Answer and triage incoming calls, provide professional support, and route or forward calls to the appropriate internal recipient or department as applicable.
- Support referral sources by providing consistent, high-quality customer service and timely follow-up.
- Partner with the sales team to support referral source relationships, identify intake barriers, and improve the referral experience.
- Monitor referral activity, recurring documentation issues, and process trends; escalate opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and other systems.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required 2 years Home Health and intake experience
- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and manage a high-volume workload.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
