Responsibilities / Job Description:
-The truck yard is located in Coushatta, and job location depends on where the work is located.
- Safely and efficiently drive & operate trucks with end dump, belly dump trailers for hauling rock, sand, dirt, etc.
- Must be able to work NIGHTS & DAYS.
- Safely and efficiently drive & operate pneumatic cement trailers for hauling soil cement
- Transport materials to various oil field locations south of Shreveport in a timely manner.
-Rock will be loaded from yards in Shreveport, Mansfield, Natchitoches and Arkansas.
-Soil cement will be loaded from plants in Mississippi and Arkansas.
-Haul rock to various oil field locations south of Shreveport
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Obtain material tickets from rock & cement yards and turn them in at the end of the day.
-Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information.
-Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules, or other issues.
-Follow all DOT rules and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and functionality.
-Maintain trucks and trailers
-Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.
-Hours Vary depending on workload
-Pay is based on experience and will be discussed with the hiring supervisor.
Skills/Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
-Must be able to work NIGHTS and DAYS.
-Pass FMCSA required Pre Employment Drug & Alcohol test and background check
-Clean DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearing House query
-Proficient in operating trucks.
-Knowledge of route driving and efficient navigation techniques.
- Ability to handle freight securely and safely during transport.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during deliveries.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Basic automotive repair knowledge to address minor issues on the road.
-Provide your own reliable transportation to work
- Ability to be punctual
