We are currently seeking a life enrichment assistant to become an integral part of our team!
We are a very active independent living community with nearly 150 residents who you will interact with daily, building relationships with them and their families.
The Life Enrichment Assistant assists the Life Enrichment Director in providing activities that will engage residents in mental, physical, social, spiritual and creative capacities.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
- Develops individual and group relationships with residents, their family members, and guests.
- Provides ideas and recommendations to Life Enrichment Director for activities to provide opportunities for residents with varying interests.
- Participates in various resident activities.
- Tracks resident participation in programs and develops a plan to get residents involved in activities.
- Informs and reminds residents of daily activities.
- Accompanies residents on various trips outside the community.
- Sets up activity/entertainment area for activities. This could include tables, chairs, foods, entertainment equipment, etc.
- Keeps office and activities area neat, clean, and organized.
- Assists with decorating various areas of the community with seasonal/holiday decorations. Timely removes and stores decorations.
- Assists with executing a celebration of resident birthdays.
- Attends monthly meetings with residents to get feedback regarding current activities, as well as suggestions for added activities.
- Works with sales/marketing department to assist with execution of various marketing events.
- Drives community vehicle to transport residents to doctor appointments and outings if driver is unavailable.
- Requires walking, sitting, and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department, and safety requirements..
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as established by company insurance provider, is required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to be creative in recommending fresh activities to encourage resident participation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Competent in organization and time management.
- Demonstrate good judgment. Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work well with others.
- Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be proficient in use of computers, with the ability to learn various software.
- Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
- Regular attendance is required.
Working conditions:
- May require working with challenging residents.
- Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, guests and vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
- May require driving van or bus.
