Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Residential Wireman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in new residential construction, remodels, and service work. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers and team members, and works safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install electrical systems in new residential homes according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical plans, and specifications.
- Install service equipment, electrical panels, breakers, wiring, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, and other electrical devices.
- Complete electrical rough-ins, trim-outs, and final installations.
- Troubleshoot and repair residential electrical systems.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and passes required inspections.
- Coordinate with builders, homeowners, and other trades on job sites.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other job-related equipment safely.
- Accurately complete job documentation and communicate project updates with supervisors.
- Mentor apprentices when assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Residential Wireman Electrician License (or equivalent state licensing).
- Minimum of 2 years of residential electrical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening as required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, and unfinished homes.
- Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions and construction environments.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with custom homes, remodels, and residential service work.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Experience supervising or training apprentices is a plus.
