Job Description
Salt Smokehouse is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role is responsible for cleaning dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while assisting the kitchen team with routine operational tasks to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
- Sort, sanitize, dry, and properly store clean kitchen items
- Assist with cleaning food preparation areas and kitchen workstations
- Remove trash, recycling, and maintain a clean work environment
- Restock cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials as needed
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Support kitchen staff with general back-of-house duties when required
- Perform additional cleaning and operational support tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies when necessary
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety
- Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation practices is helpful
- Previous dishwasher, restaurant, food service, janitorial, or back-of-house experience is beneficial but not required
