Estate Maintenance Assistant – Manhattan, NY
- A private household in Manhattan is seeking an experienced, hands-on Estate Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations, maintenance, and presentation of a luxury residence.This is a collaborative role requiring a proactive professional who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of excellence and is comfortable working closely with household staff, vendors, and property management personnel.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, when the family is not in residence. Flexibility is required, as evening, weekend, holiday, and extended hours may be needed when the family or guests are in residence.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing daily maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance checks throughout the property
- Assisting with the upkeep of interior and exterior furnishings, lighting, fireplaces, water features, outdoor living areas, and mechanical spaces
- Performing minor repairs and reporting maintenance concerns to the Estate Manager and Facilities Team
- Assisting with vendor coordination, household projects, and ongoing property needs
- Supporting the housekeeping team as needed
- Receiving, organizing, and distributing deliveries and packages
- Assisting with room setups, table settings, décor arrangements, guest preparation, and household events
- Running household errands as requested
- Assisting with special projects and additional duties as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have a minimum of five years of experience working in a private residence, estate, luxury hospitality environment, or similar setting
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be comfortable using smartphones and technology for communication and task management
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment at all times
- Work well independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Willing to assist during evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to safely perform driving-related duties as required by the position
- Successfully complete reference verification and any legally compliant pre-employment screening required for the position
Compensation: $45–$50/hour DOE, plus medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, three weeks of paid vacation, ten paid holidays, and paid sick time.
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
