Overview
Osorio Training Center is hiring Youth Boxing Coaches to teach in our Hayward gym and at nearby schools through our Youth Enrichment Program. You'll work with elementary, middle, and high school students, teaching boxing and self-defense, but more importantly building confidence and discipline. If you're a natural leader who connects with kids, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Lead age-appropriate boxing classes tailored to a variety of skill levels
- Come prepared with a plan for each session. Class format is generally:
- 10–15 min — Stretching and activation
- 25–30 min — Lesson and practice
- 10–15 min — Circuit and cool-down
- Develop your own ideas for drills and activities catered to the group (e.g., incorporating other physical activities like climbing or martial arts when appropriate)
- Teach proper boxing techniques, safety protocols, and sportsmanship to youth participants
- Monitor and manage behavior to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere
- Lead warm-up, drills, and conditioning activities to enhance athletic performance
- Guide students on goal setting, motivation, and personal development
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and staff to track progress and address concerns
- Maintain equipment, ensure cleanliness of the training area, and adhere to safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience working with children or youth in sports coaching/childcare settings is preferred
- At least one year experience in combat sports is desired
- Strong behavior management, student engagement, and instructional skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate young learners and foster a positive learning environment
Requirements
- Must have access to reliable transportation in order to travel to the various schools
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to begin onboarding right away (background checks can take ~1 month, so early starters are a plus)
- Must hold current USA Boxing Coach certification, or be willing to obtain it at your own cost prior to starting
Location: In-house at Osorio Training Center or offsite at assigned school location
Start Date: August 2026
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM–8:00 PM; Typically 2–3 classes/week totaling to 8–16 hours per week to start with potential to increase hours
