Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This position works closely with the CFO and is responsible for accounts payable processing, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close support, and maintaining the integrity of accounting records.
The Bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring timely vendor payments, accurate account balances, and organized financial documentation while supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Review and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Verify proper approvals and supporting documentation prior to payment processing.
- Prepare weekly accounts payable reports for CFO review.
- Process vendor payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer.
- Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and supporting documentation.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
Account Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Reconcile corporate credit card accounts.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
General Ledger Support
- Prepare and enter journal entries as assigned.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting records.
- Assist with tracking prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
Recordkeeping & Cost Savings
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
- Support the development and maintenance of accounting procedures and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting processes.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Identify opportunities to save the company money by regularly comparing prices and tracking/monitoring increases and overall costs.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems required; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting fundamentals in a manufacturing business.
- Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
