In-depth, hands-n knwledge f the peratin, cnfiguratin, and maintenance f Cisc Catalyst series enterprise-level cre ruters and netw- rk switches released within the last 5 years.
Extensive demnstrated knwledge f supprting, maintaining, and cnfiguratin f netwrk security firewall systems such as Frtinet (preferred), Cisc, Pal Alt, and Check Pint; Cntent filtering slutins, netwrk defense against malware, viruses, phishing schemes, ransmware, and - ther threats.
Demnstrated knwledge and experience with managing and supprting data backup and recvery systems such as Veeam, Chesity, Rubrik, C- mmvault, and Dell.
Wrking knwledge f the installatin, testing and maintenance f netwrk cabling including cpper (CAT 3, 5, 5E, 6, 7) and fiber ptic (single mde and multimde) and related cpper and fiber - ptical test equipment.
Experience in supprting and cnfiguring wireless enterprise systems such as Cisc- and HP/Aruba.
In-depth, hands-n knwledge f Windws Server 2019 / 2022, Windws 8 – 11 S, VMWare, HyperV, Nutanix, Clud cnnectivity, and Apple S as related t lcal and wide area netwrks supprting Mac, iPhne, iPad, and ther iS devices, server hardware, and vice ver IP and SIP telephny perati- ns.

Summary:
Under the supervisin f the Executive Directr f Technlgy, the Infrmatin Security Engineer is respnsible fr maintaining and enhancing the security psture f the Allentwn Schl District's infrmatin systems and netwrks. This rle invlves designing, implementing, and managing security measures t prtect the district's data and systems frm unauthrized access, use, disclsure, disruptin, mdificatin, r destructin. The engineer will fcus n identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks and threats, ensuring cmpliance with district plicies and relevant regulatins.
Essential Duties and Respnsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
Design, implement, and maintain netwrk security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusin detectin/preventin systems, VPNs, and ther security appliances.
Develp and implement security plicies and prcedures t ensure cmpliance with district plicies and relevant regulatins (e.g., FERPA, CIPA).
Maintain District netwrk hardware and sftware standards as set frth in the districts technlgy plan and by the Directr f Technlgy.
Prvide stable, secure, and apprpriately scaled server envirnments cnsistent with the districts service level agreements.
versee the daily peratins f the Districts Windws, VMWare, and Apple Xserve servers and applicatins.
peratinal Management:
Mnitr netwrk activity fr security breaches and investigate security incidents.
Cnduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetratin testing t identify and remediate security weaknesses.
Manage and maintain security tls and technlgies, including SIEM systems, antivirus sftware, and endpint detectin and respnse (EDR) slutins.
Implement netwrk equipment security, system / data backups, and netwrk security.
Ensure that all service prviders retained r cntracted by the district fr data gvernance and recrds management purpses meet r exceed industry and/r gvernment standards fr data prtectin and privacy f persnal infrmatin.
Cmply with law, Bard plicy, administrative regulatins and district prcedures regarding data security and integrity f data cntaining cnfidential and/r critical data/infrmatin f the district.
Adhere t district plicies 830 and 830.1, ensuring the security f cmputerized persnal infrmatin and data gvernance.
Perfrm ther tasks and assumes ther respnsibilities as assigned.
Team Leadership & Develpment:
Prvide technical supprt and guidance t IT staff n security best practices.
Cllabrate with ther IT teams t ensure seamless integratin f security measures with netwrk peratins.
Maintain a cperative wrking relatinship with the members f the Infrmatin Technlgy staff and the District cmmunity.
Cmmunicate effectively.
Stay current with the latest security threats and trends and recmmend apprpriate security measures.
