Pay: $18–$23/hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (1-hour lunch)
- Occasional early start (1–2 days/month): 7:00 AM

Responsibilities
- Deliver an exceptional, concierge-level patient experience
- Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures and patient appointments
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain efficient clinical flow
- Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols
- Capture high-quality diagnostic records, including photographs, radiographs, and digital scans
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, aligner wear, elastics, and retainers
- Fabricate and deliver retainers and other removable appliances (when applicable)
- Assist with placement and removal of orthodontic appliances
- Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatment notes
- Maintain inventory and assist with stocking clinical supplies
- Support the team wherever needed to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience
- Participate in continuing education and ongoing training
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with many of the following is preferred:
- Fixed orthodontic appliances (bonding, debonding, wire changes, ligation, bracket repositioning)
- Clear aligner therapy
- Digital intraoral scanning
- Diagnostic records (photographs and radiographs)
- Retainer delivery and patient instruction
- Elastics, separators, power chains, and orthodontic auxiliaries
- Instrument sterilization and infection control
- Electronic dental records and practice management software
- Strong understanding of OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
- Current Florida Dental Assistant certification (Expanded Functions/EFDA preferred)
- Orthodontic assisting experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, positive, and patient-focused demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and continually improve
