Machine Operator & CNC Machinist (Entry–Advanced) – 1st Shift | Aitkin, MN Penmac Staffing is now hiring for multiple manufacturing positions including Machine Operator, CNC Machinist I, and CNC Machinist II for a trusted employer partner in Aitkin, MN. These are full-time, 1st shift roles working Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a 3-day weekend every week. Pay ranges based on experience:
- Machine Operator (Entry Level): $17–$20/hour
- CNC Machinist: $20–$30/hour (higher pay considered for advanced skills or programming experience)
Requirements for Machine Operator & CNC Machinist
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Machine Operator: 0–6 months manufacturing experience
- Machinist I/II: 0–2+ years machining experience depending on level
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (or willingness to learn for entry-level roles)
- Basic to moderate math skills (fractions, decimals, conversions)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for up to 10 hours
- Must be willing to follow all safety policies and submit to pre-employment screening
Machine Operator & CNC Machinist Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to produce metal components and meet daily production goals
- Perform quality checks and maintain accurate counts of materials and finished products
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures
- Assist with tooling changes, deburring, and basic machine setup
- Machinist roles: Perform setups, adjustments, troubleshooting, and some programming edits
- Identify and report machining issues promptly
- Work across departments as needed and support production efficiency
