Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration and help maintain care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to promote healthy eating habits
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Hands-on experience with patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and developing or following care plans is essential
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of patient care
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred; additional training in Hoyer lifts or heavy lifting techniques is a plus
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions strengthens your caregiving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team ensures the best outcomes for those you serve
