Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages.
- Take accurate orders using TOAST POS System, ensuring all special requests are noted clearly.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, demonstrating cocktail experience and beverage knowledge.
- Upsell menu items and suggest wine pairings or specialty drinks to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash and card transactions efficiently while handling cash handling responsibilities with accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting food handling and food safety practices.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly, fostering a welcoming environment for all patrons.
Requirements
- Prior food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably with fine dining exposure.
- Proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for order entry and sales processing.
- Strong knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine, cocktails, and drink presentation techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling duties.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience in serving or host/hostess roles that emphasize guest relations and customer service excellence.
