Job Overview
We are seeking skilled full-time Bartenders to help lead the bar program at Matilda. Our fine dining program features a wide variety of cocktails rooted in high-level technique and distinctive recipes.
Our bar features a small dining area as well, so an enthusiasm for limited table service is a must, as well. We are particularly looking for professionals with the organization skills necessary for maintaining a healthy inventory, ordering, and maintaining costs.
Matilda is a fine dining restaurant where ongoing education is a regular feature of our work. We want to bring on team members who not only eagerly expand their knowledge of food and beverage but look for opportunities to share what they know with their colleagues.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently
- Use of Toast POS to accurately manage cash and credit card transaction records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards
- Receiving cross-training to learn dining room steps of service and availability to help cover floor shifts
- Develop new recipes in collaboration with chef owners and restaurant management
- Take inventory at end of week to prepare weekly orders
- Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible drinking and adhere to all alcohol service regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff for food service, catering, or banquet events as required
- Assist in setting up and breaking down bar areas for special events
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience in fine dining food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments; event or banquet experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Toast and OpenTable
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and responsible alcohol service practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.00 – 30.0 per week
