Ascension Academy is microschool catering to 10 kids in a classroom. Servicing grades K–8 committed to providing students with an enriched, personalized education in a supportive, student-centered environment.
We believe students thrive when they are known, encouraged, challenged, and given opportunities to discover their strengths. Our small-school environment allows educators to build meaningful relationships with students while creating engaging learning experiences.
About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking certified teachers and substitute teachers to join our growing team to oversee a classroom of 5-10 students.
This is an opportunity for an educator who enjoys working closely with students, creating engaging learning experiences, and contributing to a positive school community.
Responsibilities
Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
- Providing instruction and/or academic support to K–8 students
- Creating engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences
- Supporting students with individual learning needs
- Building positive relationships with students
- Encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving
- Maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment
- Communicating effectively with school leadership and families
- Supporting school activities and community events as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Current teaching certification appropriate to the position
- Experience working with school-age children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Commitment to student growth and success
Preferred:
- Experience working in a small-school, microschool, private school, or personalized learning environment
- Experience working with multiple grade levels
- Experience providing tutoring or individualized academic support
