American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience and skill managing continuous IV cardiac medications.

Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit with occasional overflow to IMCU
-
32-bed unit with a 1:5-6 patient ratio
-
Adult to geriatric patient population
-
Manages cardiac patients with arrhythmias, CHF, chest pain, and pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT)
-
Cares for surgical overflow patients including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and chest tube/biliary drain cases
-
Handles occasional vascular, post cardiac cath, TR band, DKA, ortho, and CVA overflow patients
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
-
Typically scheduled every other weekend, with core staff prioritized for scheduling
-
Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
Rare on-call requirements with a 2-hour response time
-
Epic EMR preferred; also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
-
Navy blue scrubs required
-
Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications required, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin
-
Experience with diuretics (Bumex, Lasix) and anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin) required
-
Insulin drip management experience required

Basic arrhythmia knowledge and Med Surg skill set required

TR Band experience required
-
Epic charting experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care including arrhythmia management and cardioversion
-
Manage cardiac drips without titration responsibilities, as titration is typically reserved for core staff
-
Precedex management is handled by core staff, not travelers
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of consideration
-
Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
